cross-stitched at metro arts

cross-stitch/friday 1st june

i had started to lose hope in the arts. with the current cuts, the mass evacuation to melbourne, brisbane had become a black hole for independent artist. then I discovered this:

it started with letter to a lover. my friends sarah winters asked if everyone could sent her letter to lovers past, present and future. i wrote 4.

you were welcomed by thousands plastered over the allyway to the back of metro arts. i was over whelmed by the amount of hope, hurt, sadness and pain that covered the walls. the bleeding hearts.
the rain was falling as we gathered in the courtyard. deep discussion were had with andrew corey from backbone youth arts. it was all a bit of a blur, something about my father. that man knows too much.
we stopped in to the theatre to have a quite moment with tom quirk, writing a message in a bottle and sharing another. it was intimate and lacked the fear we usually hold when it comes to sharing our hopes.
i spend an hour waiting for vodka and truth or was it truth and vodka. either way it was worth the wait. not because of the free vodka. well not entirely. i wish i could share more about it however i signed a confidentiality agreement. my lips are sealed.
that was near the end of your night, more blurred laughter, whispered secretes, stolen looks, nikki and i danced down the driveway under the collections of bleeding hearts and in to the darkness.
i hope to find that place again. were freedom is king and chaos rules, lies are shared and the truth is simply accepted not judged.
